Campaigning for preservation of the hotel where J.R.R. Tolkien stayed and gained inspiration for his mythology. Jane Austen, G.K. Chesterton, Tennyson and H.W. Longfellow were also guests. Anyone for Tennyson?

The June edtion of the Lyme Regis Society Newsletter contains an article about The Three Cups by Jo Draper of The Lyme Regis Museum.

Among the interesting facts Jo has unearthed is that Tennyson the Poet Laureate stayed at the The Three Cups in September 1867. Surely, this is cause enough for another blue plaque to be placed on the building to attract visitors.
