Campaigning for preservation of the hotel where J.R.R. Tolkien stayed and gained inspiration for his mythology. Jane Austen, G.K. Chesterton, Tennyson and H.W. Longfellow were also guests. A chesterton&humbertsestate agents SOLD sign went up outside the Three Cups hotel on 1st April 2011 and was gone by Sunday 3rd.
Does anyonr know what is going on there?

Thanks for the info. According to my sources, this happened last year as well but we didn't find out who did it. Anyone reading this who can shed any light, please post a comment to enlighten us or email admin@savethethreecupshotel.co.uk

As of June, Palmers Brewery said it is making good progress on the development of the Three Cups. It would be lovely to see this old structure reclaim its glory and open its door once again as a hotel.

Can't wait for The Three Cups to reopen as a hotel. I hope that they'll be able to finish the reconstruction before the year ends.
