Time to get in on the act

This weekend on the Telegraph website Daniel Hannan posted a blog extolling the virtues of holidays in the UK with a video clip by the national tourist boards of England, Scotland and Wales.

Although I was pleased to see that the video mentioned how Wordsworth was inspired by the Lake District, I was disappointed that the inspiration which Dorset gave to Tolkien and other literary giants was overlooked.

Isn't it time for Lyme Regis to bang the drum about its cultural heritage a bit louder and advertise The Three Cups Hotel more than its breakwater?

By the way, if Daniel Hannan is interested in preserving the culture and heritage of the UK, he might wish to consider the impact of surrendering the sovereignty of the law making powers of its parliament to the EU and the fact that his party leader opposes any fundamental change in this arrangement. May I suggest that those who wish England, Scotland and Wales to preserve their character and charm should consider joining a political party with the independence and prosperity of the UK as its avowed intent.
