Important Letters

There are some letters which are well worth reading in the View from Lyme Regis newspaper which came out today. The importance of the heritage of The Three Cups as a HOTEL is well and truly validated.

Click on this link to see the on-line version of today's edition and turn to page 16. You will see a letter from Peter Lloyd who lived in the hotel for 20 years when his parents were the proprietors. He points out that one councillor needs to check his sources lest he mislead the public about the age of the building and he gives us his eye witness testimony to visits by many famous people.

The letter below from a Ms Newton asks that the Nolan Principles be applied more widely in local government offices. I would agree and ask if they could be used to make public all meetings and conversations between council officers and parties involved in deciding the future of The Three Cups HOTEL as it is so important to the future economic well being of the West Dorset area.

There is a letter below that which extols the pleasures of walking through the countryside to visit Lyme Regis. I am sure that if the late Professor Tolkien could have read that he would have been in total agreement. His love of the English countryside and seashore drew him again and again to spend his holidays in The Three Cups HOTEL.

Can I just send a reminder to all who have the power and duty to save The Three Cups HOTEL for the benefit of the people who elected them that there a three feature films of Tolkien's Hobbit story to be released over the next few years? If the HOTEL can be opened again for business during that time, I am sure that it would attract many visitors. To appreciate the extent of the interest in Tolkien's writing around the world, click here to see the links page of the Tolkien Society website. If you scroll down, you will see that they have given this website a mention for which I am very thankful but I look forward to the day when there is a link to The Three Cups HOTEL advertising accommodation and hospitality to Tolkien fans.

We at hotels in london near heathrow, throw our support for the Three Cups Hotel. Its contemporary contribution is a must preserve for culture and landmark purposes.

The historical background of this hotel should then be put to writing, documented and properly verified and authenticated. Like selling a vintage car, it would be difficult to close a deal if the background of the ownership is hazy from the start.

My mom used to say that this hotel is one of the historical landmarks in England. It has been almost 20 years since its former owners announced their plan to have parts of it demolished. One of the things that they should also check are the electrical wiring of this old place. Many historical landmarks fell to ruin with old and faulty wiring.
