Cultural Tourism Marketing Research

What next? There is a chicken and egg problem here. No-one would deny that there is potential for cultural tourism in the UK. You can see what is possible in London, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. A central location is not essential: consider Grasmere in the Lake District or St Ives in Cornwall.

What is needed is a boost or an event to promote the location. Such a boost might come from an advertising campaign or a related business venture. Lyme Regis seems to need a spark or catalyst to attract sufficient attention. Therefore my current strategy is to try and attract business schools who would see the problem of how to re-open the Three Cups Hotel as a suitable project for their students. I believe that the knowledge gathering activities of such research could well attract the attention of the Tourist Authorities and relevant business interests. If you know of any MBA students who are looking for a dissertation subject in the area of tourism and leisure, then please point them in the direction of this website.
