Beatrix Potter Attraction
As there is so much interest in Beatrix Potter at the moment due the release of a film about her, I would like to find out if she has any connection with the Three Cups Hotel.
In my last post, I provided a link to a BBC web page which described a visit Beatrix Potter made to Lyme Regis. Another BBC web page illustrates the potential of this famous author to attract tourists to the Lake District (The World of Beatrix Potter, Windermere.) If all the literary connections with Lyme Regis could be brought together to publicise the Three Cups Hotel, there would be a strong financial case in favour of re-opening the building for visitors to the town to stay in or as an attraction along the lines of The World Of Beatrix Potter (see link above) or like Dove Cottage for Wordsworth (see earlier postings). Such a visitor centre would have the added attractions of links to Tolkien, John Fowles and to a lesser extent Jane Austin. And one could add that it is located in Hardy's Wessex!
