Campaigning for preservation of the hotel where J.R.R. Tolkien stayed and gained inspiration for his mythology. Jane Austen, G.K. Chesterton, Tennyson and H.W. Longfellow were also guests. Cups, cups, cups, cups, cups, cups

The number 3 appears six times in an article entitled Tracy Chevalier: fossil-hunting on the Jurassic Coast but there is no reference to The Three Cups Hotel. There should have been in the section Where To Stay.

Sadly, until West Dorset District Council fulfills its duty and acts to save The Three Cups Hotel, there will be a shortage of hotel beds for tourists who read the linked article or those who want to visit a hotel with many many world famous cultural connections.

So, I don't think there will be any trophies, cups or any any other awards from the tourist industry for the council unless they show some signs of action. In fact, unless they do something soon, one might suspect that lithification has set in at county hall.
