An Old View and A New View

By kind permission of Frederick Warne and Co, we were able to use Beatrix Potter's 1904 drawing of Broad Street, Lyme Regis, showing The Three Cups Hotel at the top of this page for a limited period (now ended).

I wish to thank Judy Taylor Hough of The Beatrix Potter Society for bringing the drawing to my attention. Please visit their website to find out more about Miss Potter's life and work.

If you would like to see a more up to date image of the hotel from a different angle, you may be interested to know that Google Earth now have detailed satellite photographs of Lyme Regis. If you have access to Google Earth, try entering the post code, DT7 3QE, in the Fly To box, zoom in and look for the building with the bowed bay on the south side of Broad Street. You might like to try and work out where Miss Potter was when she did her drawing.
